How do I get started with volunteering at BPA?

What volunteer opportunities are available?

Volunteers are essential to what we do. Opportunities include ushering, serving at concessions, building sets, painting scenery, sewing costumes, and various behind-the-scenes roles that help bring our productions to life. There’s something for everyone!

Do I need any special skills or experience to volunteer?

Not at all! While experience is always helpful, we welcome volunteers of all backgrounds. We’re happy to teach you everything you need to know during your shift.

What is the time commitment for volunteering?

You can volunteer as often as you’d like—from a single event to ongoing support. Most concessions and ushering shifts last about 3-4 hours per show.

Can I serve at the bar?

Yes, but since we serve alcohol, concessionaires must be at least 21 years old and MAST-certified (Mandatory Alcohol Service Training). The certification takes about 3 hours online, and BPA covers the cost. To start the process, submit your application with the box checked to let us know you’d like to learn more and we’ll provide a course voucher.

How do I sign up for shifts?

After your application is processed and you receive your Volgistics login details, click the “Log in to Volgistics” button above. You’ll be able to view the available shifts on the calendar and select the ones that work for you.
