The Moth's George Dawes Green presents "The Kingdoms of Savannah"

Wednesday, November 9th @ 7:30 PM

George Dawes Green talks about the strange, haunted, beautiful, mendacious city, and the stories—told and untold—that have shaped its character through the centuries. He’ll talk about the extraordinary people from his childhood who inspired the founding of the Moth, and whose tales he has woven into his acclaimed new novel, The Kingdoms of Savannah.

Tickets for this fundraising event are set to different donation levels. Guests may purchase tickets at their desired donation level from $25 to $1000.

All donations are tax-deductible and support the construction of the new Buxton Center for Bainbridge Performing Arts.

George Dawes Green is a New York Times bestselling author and the founder of The Moth. His first novel, The Caveman’s Valentine, won the Edgar Award and became a motion picture starring Samuel L. Jackson. The Juror was an international bestseller in more than twenty languages and was the basis for the movie starring Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin. Ravens was chosen as one of the best books of 2009 by the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Daily Mail of London, and many other publications.

The Kingdoms of Savannah, Green’s latest novel, was published this July to widespread acclaim. Neil Gaiman called it “the apotheosis of Southern Gothic.” The New York Times says that “it’s layered, but like a parfait goes down sweet, chilled and easy ... Green shows how you can love a place’s stink, find it splendid even as you despise its sediment.”

Green grew up in Georgia and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
