BPA hosts a benefit film screening party, featuring a showing of “A Portrait of Louise,” a film study of Louise Mills in her role as Bainbridge Island’s energetic and charismatic muse of music, fashion and the performing arts, created by filmmaker Steve Stolee. The film illustrates Louise’s devotion to costumery and community theatre—a personal journey in which she has inspired the founding of two theatre companies (Bainbridge Performing Arts and Island Theatre) as well as producing innumerable events that have helped create the vibrant Island arts community we enjoy today. The film combines conversations with Louise, photos from personal and historical archives, interviews with old and new friends, and scenes from the recent production of "Louise Mills presents: What Is This Thing Called Love?" See the film and celebrate with both the subject and the filmmaker with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
