The BPA theatre is transformed into a nightclub, with refreshments and a no-host bar, for the second annual Bainbridge Poetry Slam, where poets perform their work in a competition before judges chosen from the audience. Gutsy poets share original poems and compete for cash prizes. Poets are judged on both the content of the poem and their performance, and no props, costumes, or musical instruments are allowed. The evening includes a free drink for all competitors, and BPA expects a few members of the Seattle slam poetry community to give local bards some competition.
