Volunteer Opportunities | Internships

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, fulfill community service hours, acquire new skills, add an item to your resume, or help stage a BPA production. BPA opportunities include administrative support, ushering, box office, concession sales, stage crew, spotlight operator, scenic carpentry, painting, and more. Our volunteers give more than 1,500 hours a year to bring theatre, music, dance and Theatre School to our patrons. Join in the fun by contacting the BPA Box Office at 206.842.8569!

You may volunteer as often as you wish, and when you do, you'll get to see BPA events for free! Families are encouraged to volunteer together; youths, age 16 and older may volunteer without an adult.

Usher a show – 1 hour before and 30 minutes after showtime.

Serve concessions – 1 hour before, 15 minute intermission and 30 minutes after showtime.

Answer Phones – 1 hour before the show.

Administrative support – help with mailings, box office, phone, generally during daytime.

Backstage – stage crew, spotlight operator, scenic carpentry and painting, and other opportunities.

Internships

BPA offers an internship program to augment staff as well as support and train future professionals. We’re always striving to broaden our pool of directors, production artists, and Theatre School instructors.
