THEATRE AUDITIONS

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Parties interested in participating in BPA AUDITIONS are requested to prepare one 1-minute monologue and if auditioning for the musicals, one 2-minute song as well. Parties who recently prepared a piece for Theatre Puget Sound’s General Auditions are urged to audition for BPA as well. Auditions are at Bainbridge Performing Arts, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. Those auditioning are requested to bring an acting resume and head shot, if available. Rehearsals: August 19 – October 9, 2008
Needed: Macbeth includes 20 – 25 parts for men, women and youth, ages 14 and up. Note: All actors needed under the age of 14 will be asked to attend auditions by invitation only.
Roles: Three Witches, Macbeth, Duncan, Malcolm, Donalbaine, Lennox, Ross, Angus, Banquo, Lady Macbeth, Macduff, Fleance, Porter, Old Man, Servant/Messenger, Murderer/ English Doctor/Siward, Murderer/Scots Doctor/Menteith, Murderer/Messenger/Caithness, Hecate, Lady Macduff, Son of Macduff, Waiting Gentlewoman, Seyton, Young Siward, Two Women.
Requirements: Please prepare one 1½ - 2-minute Shakespeare monologue. Those auditioning will be asked to do cold readings from the sides at callbacks. Please bring a headshot or a current picture to the audition.

BAINBRIDGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS

Bainbridge Performing Art’s Classical Music Program is seeking musicians for all instruments to play in its friendly community Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra for its 35th Season (2007-2008). In particular, strings, woodwinds, brass players and percussionists are needed. Those interested in auditioning are requested to call Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra’s Personnel Manager at 360.697.1249 to schedule an audition appointment on September 5, 2007 at Bainbridge Performing Arts. Interested parties are requested to leave their name, phone number, instrument, and either a mailing address or email address to receive an audition form and schedule an appointment.

Performance dates for Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra’s 2007-2008 35th Anniversary Season under the baton of Music Director David Upham are Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. on November 10 & 11, 2007; March 8 & 9, 2008; and May 31 & June 1, 2008. Additionally, the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra will perform in a joint concert with the Bainbridge Island Youth Orchestra on April 20, 2008. Rehearsals, which are generally held during the eight weeks prior to each concert set, begin in late September, on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island, unless otherwise arranged.

Music has always been at the heart of the BPA mission, and our commitment stands undiminished to this day. This season, it has the backing of a well-organized Board and a thriving institution. It takes a lively community of musicians and listeners to make such a commitment sustainable, and we thank the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra musicians and audience members for their part in keeping our music program lively and growing.
